Please be advised that no winter maintenance is provided on Shubenacadie Canal Commission (SCC)-managed trails or sites from November 1 to April 30.
An exception applies to Lock 5 Park, where additional funding has been secured to keep the site accessible until November 30, 2026. After this date, the gate will be closed to vehicle access.
During the winter months, trails and sites may be affected by snow, ice, fallen branches, and other seasonal hazards. Please note that garbage collection will also be suspended during this period.
Visitors who choose to access SCC trails and sites during the winter are encouraged to use caution, dress appropriately for the weather, and remain mindful of changing trail conditions. Please also remember to pack out everything you pack in.
